A new router is in the works for a new type of wireless router: a 3g version.
The company behind the G3100, an inexpensive wireless router for home and business, said Monday that it has completed a software update for the router that enables the 3g model to be used with 3G devices.
The router, which is manufactured by Netgear, is currently only available in North America.
Netgear said it will release the router in the U.S. in June, with plans to offer it in Europe in the coming months.
The new version is built on a proprietary firmware and offers a lot more features, including better support for data encryption, a larger memory and support for 3G networks.
The firmware has also been updated to support Bluetooth 4.1 and USB 2.0.
